Coming Soon: Your New Visa Debit Card

We're delighted to announce an exciting upgrade for Ballyshannon & Killybegs Credit Union Current Account members.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be replacing our existing Mastercard debit cards with brand-new Visa Debit cards, giving you even more flexibility, enhanced security and worldwide acceptance for your everyday banking. This change reflects the wider rollout of Visa Debit across Irish credit unions.

What's Changing?

If you have a Ballyshannon & Killybegs Credit Union Current Account, you don't need to do a thing - your new Visa Debit card will be sent directly to you by post via a secure card mailer.

Your account isn't changing – you'll continue to enjoy the same convenient services, now with the added benefits that come with Visa Debit.

💳 Clear printed card details for improved readability

🔒 Personal details conveniently located on the back of the card

📱 A modern portrait design that reflects how you use your card in chip readers and ATMs

♿ An accessibility notch to help visually impaired users insert the card correctly

🛡️ Added protection when shopping online with Visa Secure, helping guard against unauthorised transactions

📲 Fast, easy and secure contactless payments with Apple Pay & Google Pay

Your new Visa Debit card is designed to be smarter, safer and more accessible -giving you greater confidence every time you pay.

Your existing Mastercard will continue to work as normal until you activate your new card. Once you receive and activate your new card, you may need to update your card details with any services you pay for regularly using your debit card. This includes things like subscriptions, e-tolls, or some utility providers (for example, bin collections or TV services). These payments won’t automatically transfer to your new card.
